The course is divided into two parts. The classroom portion is 4 hours. The Range portion will be up to 2 hours and will include some instruction in basic shooting skills and marksmanship to include the shooting proficiency for your license. To pass the proficiency test requires a score of 175/250, (70%) or better. If you are unable to pass during this class, you can enroll in our basic learn to shoot class. One on one sessions are available.
Basic Learn to Shoot One on One Session: $325
*Fee covers all training and range fees. If you do not have a weapon to use for certification, one will be provided at no additional cost, just provide your own ammo. State application and fingerprint fees are not included in the class fee.
What are the requirements to get a License To Carry in Texas?
    -Be a resident of Texas.
    -Be 21 and legally able to buy a handgun under both Federal and State law.
    -Not judged to be chemically dependent or of unsound mind.
    -Not ever convicted of a felony anywhere, and no convictions of a Class A or B misdemeanor in the past 5 years.
    -Not subject to a restraining or protective order.
    -Not delinquent in payment of taxes, owed to any Texas Governmental entity.
    -You must qualify using a .22 caliber or larger. It can be either a semi-auto or revolver, and does not effect what you may carry.
    -Out of state residents may apply for a non-resident license if they meet all other requirements above, but you must obtain a Texas ID card to do so.
   
What does the shooting test require?
   -The shooting proficiency test will consist of 50 rounds of timed fire on the state specified target. 
    20 rounds at 3 yards, 20 rounds at 7 yards, and 10 rounds at 15 yards.
How long will it take for me to receive my license after submitting everything?
   -Under normal circumstances your license should be mailed to you in 2-3 months.
How long is a license valid for?
   -Your initial license is valid for four years, and your renewal license is valid for five years.
